  1. Whom did you look up to?
When I was younger, I looked up at my parents. During grade school, I admired comic book artists. In high school, I looked up to my seniors. In college, I dedicated my life to the JW cause and I looked up to Niko Rabe and other exemplars there. When the depression happened, I really didn’t look up to anyone. After it though, that is when things got really interesting. I looked up to a log of people in the blogosphere: Emilie Wapnick, Dave Ursillo, Tammy Strobel, Austin Kleon, James Clear, Jacob Lund Fisker, Joshua Becker, Courtney Carver, Ben Hewitt, Charles Eisenstein, Mark Boyle, Kelly Brogan, Steve Patterson, Susan Elliot, Craig Mod. I also looked up to people I discovered but are not necessarily online like William Coperthwaite, Thoreau, Tolkien. Rem Tanauan is the only real friend I have that I really look up to.
  2. Whom did you depend on?
My parents. My ex. Lea. My relatives. Rem. Jay Vee. Some cousins.
  3. Who kept you safe emotionally or physically? Who didn’t?
My parents. My ex. Lea. Who didn’t? My neighbors in Sta. Maria.
  4. Who worried about you when you were feeling stressed?
    My parents. My ex. Lea.
  5. Whom did you take for granted?
Bernice. Probably a lot of other people I lost contact with.
  6. Did you choose your friends thoughtfully? or did you fall into them?
Most of them I fall into.
  7. When were you running away?
Ever since the depressive episode, I was running away from propaganda, from bondage of the mind, which I experienced from my childhood religion and spirituality circles.
  8. When have you played it safe?
Ever since the depressive episode, I find it really difficult to expand, try, and face my fears.
  9. When did you make excuses?
Almost every time I play it safe.
  10. When did you feel most alive and fist-pumping in life?
When I am traveling. When I am truly, truly in the presence of beauty in nature. When I am working on a creative project. When I am with inspiring but kind and considerate people.
  11. Where have you struggled?
Making friends. Making connections. Daring greatly.
  12. What part of your past do you want to forgive?
That angry Vince who lashed out at every body and who blamed every body about his problems.
  13. What more do you need?
    Community. Adventure. Mentors. Archetypes. Courage.
